So now I sit there, wondering what the man who walks up my own street in an old jacket which doesn’t fit the weather is doing rn, if he can still afford the coffee and cigarettes he’s used to.
While another neighbor gets along just like that after surviving cancer… in his own flat, kept warm. Has a good car and some people to talk to. Much better.
Most people realise it when the last breath is about to go out forever. Blessed are those who realise it early because then something can be done to correct our way of living and become more aware in our small acts of routine. Awareness is the door.
I quote “I want to walk my streets with less hurry and more heart. I want to meet the Pascals of the world as people, complete, complex, worthy of my attention not because of what they can give me, but because they are.”
And the process of walking slowly being fully aware is such that you may discover yourself one fine day!
